Option 1:
Let the driver/guide of a 4x4 pick you up and take you to the best spots for making fabulous pictures of the incredible wildlife! Every safari is different as animals are roaming wildly - there is a bit of luck involved as well. Remember to bring your binoculars and charge your camera. (min. 2 par
Option 2:
You could drive with your own 4x4 and pick up a recommended guide at the National Park gate, who takes you to the best spots. When we did it as a family it worked well - it is just that the driver needs to focus on the road and has less time to watch animals. (Guide charges around $10)I
Options 3:
If you prefer an open truck safari you would need to travel to the gate yourself (15 min by car, no 4x4 required or take a taxi or motorbike taxi) and then you can join a truck. Let us know your preferences and we will try to arrange for you.
Road safaris are better done in dry weather only.
For the park entry fee budget $5 for Malawian national, $15 Malawian residents and $30 for international visitors (thanks for paying this solidarity price to maintain the park well). Park opens at 6 am. Entry tickets can be used twice per day (E.g. if you want to do road and river on the same day)
